The
Vm-3 Liquid Vinyl System
Vm-3
Liquid Vinyl System was developed to overcome one of the inherent deficiencies
in conventional surface coatings…..that is to provide film continuity in
the event of any existing or developing cracks and corrosion protection.
The
Vm-3 System has advantages over other conventional vinyl coatings, due
to:-
Vm-3
has improved intercoat adhesion.Vm-3 can be applied to virtually any dry,
clean porous substrate and clean hard surfaces. Concrete, masonry, stucco,
plaster, sheet rock, stainless steel, steel, wood, fibreglass and acrylic.
Vm-3 has a tensile strength of 15.10 mpa and elongates in excess of one
hundred and forty percent at 20 degrees Celsius and remains flexible at
temperatures as low as minus 30 degrees Celsius.Vm-3 contains a new generation
of resins, plasticizers and solvents; higher technology and "new improved
formulas". Vm-3 does not support combustion with a zero flame spread rating.Vm-3
has improved abrasion resistance. In accordance with AS1580-403.1 the Vm-3
liquid vinyl had an impresser loading of 3800(g).
Vm-3
retains it colour. Coated surfaces have gone beyond 10 years without discolouration
and may easily be rejuvenated at anytime. Vm-3 will not allow mildew or
mould to grow and has excellent chemical resistance unaffected by most
acids, alkalis, oils and even seawater. It is also approved for water potability
to AS4020. Vm-3 has as per AS1580.408.5 an adhesion strength of greater
than 3.5 (MPa) when applied to a concrete substrate.Vm-3 is easily cleaned
with simple detergents. For any project requiring a flexible coating with
excellent protective properties, consider the Vm-3 System, a vinyl coating
exclusive to Vinyl Systems.
There
is a growing realisation by architects, design engineers and applicators
responsible for drawing up coating specifications, that modern high performance
coatings are much less tolerant of low standards of surface preparation
and application than traditional paints. There is also a growing expectation
on the part of the consumer that product performance can be extended over
longer periods.Consequently, there is an increasing need for control, beyond
the technical assistance provided by the coating supplier, to cover surface
preparation and coating application.
Why
Still Vinyl?
Vinyl
has one of the broadest and most useful ranges of properties of any coating.
Successfully used in ships, bridges, locks, dams, interiors and exteriors
of water storage tanks, sewerage and water treatment plants and swimming
pools.High performance in corrosive environments and heavy-duty maintenance
market.Vinyl after initial application does not require sandblasting as
it has excellent long-term recoatability via a solvent-welding mechanism.Single
-package systems without mixing and pot life complicatioos. With the cost
of maintenance increasing steadily and corrosion problems increasing, vinyl
has the history of being one of the most effective coatings.Flexibility
in the vinyl coating.Resistance against salt, UV rays, acids, alkalis and
oils.
Why
it Works So Well
It
has been known for a long time that PVC finishes inside a swimming pool
gives the lowest maintenance surface available. VM-3 gives you all of these
advantages i.e. no blackspot, UV treated, uses less chemicals, soft to
touch etc. but with the added advantages of being bonded to the surface,
no seams or joins, unaffected by most chemicals and easily re-coated instead
of full replacement. Shapes and sizes are not a problem as the VM-3 is
sprayed to whatever structure is in existence. Whether a new pool or renovation,
domestic or commercial pool VM-3 offers many advantages over other types
of interior finishes.
